Hype is giving something more exposure than it is due. This takes place all the time. American news is almost entirely hype, focusing on short term unimportant news entertainment. Our lives are so sadly centered around celebrities. Let me translate that for you: centered around people we have never meet!
Quit the hype, focus on what matters. Focus on your sphere of influence, what you can actually change. Not DC, not Hollywood, not the world financial markets. Focus on your workplace, your school, your church, your neighborhood, and change them for good. For the glory of God.
